GETTING INVOLVED

Saginaw, Michigan is very fortunate to have one of the best soap box race facilities in the nation – with adequate return track, storage barns, lighting for night racing and plenty of space.  The major portion of race cities utilize city streets, which have to be shut down and do not allow driving practice for the drivers during the majority of the year.  There are other cities with regular tracks. Flint has a track, but it  has not been used in years and has fallen into disrepair.  Otherwise, you would have to go deep into Ohio or Indiana to find a designated track to practice.

There are three different divisions in regular Soap Box Derby: Stock, Super Stock, and Masters.  The division you choose is dependant on age, skill, and size of the driver.  Super Kids of Michigan is for children with physical or mental challenges (push the "Super Kids of Michigan" button on main site page for more details on this division).
